Hui Xiong is currently a Professor, RBS Dean's Research Professor, and Vice Chair of the Management Science and Information Systems Department, and the Director of Rutgers Center for Information Assurance at Rutgers University. He is an ACM Distinguished Scientist. He has a long history of promoting ICDM and the field of data mining. He has been actively involved in ICDM as an author, reviewer, and organizer. He has served as a General Co-Chair (2015), and a Program Co-Chair (2013).
Professor Xiong serves the broader data mining community as well. He is a co-Editor-in-Chief of Encyclopedia of GIS, an Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Data and Knowledge Engineering (TKDE), IEEE Transactions on Big Data, the Knowledge and Information Systems (KAIS) journal, ACM Transactions on Knowledge Discovery from Data (TKDD), and ACM Transactions on Management Information Systems (TMIS). He has also served as a Program Co-Chair of the Industrial and Government Track for ACM SIGKDD Conference on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining (2012) and will serve as a Program Committee Co-Chair of the Research Track for ACM SIGKDD Conference on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining (2018).
Professor Xiong has made significant contributions to the research areas of data and knowledge engineering, with a focus on developing effective and efficient data analysis techniques for emerging data intensive applications. He has published over 120 research papers in top-tier venues with an H-index of 47 at Google Scholar. He has graduated 8 PhD students, and most of them are now faculty members in major research universities in USA.
